The Padmalaya Peace Building Memorial and Learning Center, located in Nawalparasi and designed for Nagarik Aawaj, is a place of remembrance, reflection, and learning for communities affected by the Nepalese Civil War (1996–2006). Built primarily with compressed stabilized earth blocks (CSEB), the campus is designed for flood resilience and climate responsiveness. Rooted in its landscape, the architecture responds to the needs of its users while adapting to the site’s environmental conditions, creating a resilient and enduring place for learning, dialogue, and healing.
